100 questions of an artist.
Posted on 26th Sep 2008 at 01:18 PMStole this off of Nekohikaruchan whom stole it off of dA which stole off of... uh... itself.
Been a while since I made a journal. It's ALSO been a while since I drew anything. And, well, thing is.. I suck at drawing, bottom line. I'm not going to quit drawing, but I'll admit I'm probably a REALLY BAD artist. Actually, I've admitted that to myself the moment I started drawing at age 4... even then, I wasn't good, but better than most children around that age.
Anyways, let the 100 questions commence!
100 Questions for an Artist
01. What is your pen name?
Zaikanata . Most people call me Zai for short.
02. What made you choose this name?
To be honest, I'm not sure myself. I was thinking of a name and... voila.
03. Do you use PC or Mac?
PC .
04. What programs do you use most often?
Photoshop Elements and Paint.net.
05. Do you use mouse, or tablet?
Mouse for computer use, Tablet for drawing use.
06. What color or color combination do you find yourself using most often?
I myself cannot be bothered to use colors much. Black and White.
07. What part of a picture do you put most effort into?
That, I'm not sure of. I attempt to get anatomy right, shading, line art... but they all end sucky anyways.
08. How long does it take you do draw a picture?
20 minutes for the rough sketch. An hour on tablet. Another 20 minutes to clean up things, look over last minute screw-ups, basic scan to see if it's good enough to put out.
09. Do you keep your rough drafts?
No. In fact, rough drafts look horrible to me. I almost went as far as to burning one.
10. What font do you use most often?
Arial. Times New Roman. Tahoma. The usual, boring font.
11. When you scan your image, what DPI do you use?
... Bwuh?
12. Do you do anything else when you're drawing?
No. I might sometimes listen to music, but when I draw I'm usually in another world. I have even ignored Chat conversations.
13. Approximately how many pictures do you draw in a month?
3 to none.
14. What kind of paper do you draw your pictures on?
Printer paper. That's it. Line paper makes me cringe.
15. What kind of paper do you use for rough sketches and drafts?
Again, printer paper.
16. How long does it take you to ink something?
I don't ink; I sketch, copy onto the computer, line it, clean it, done.
17. Do you do comics, or fan comics?
Wish I could, but no.
18. Do you like comics? Are they fun to make?
I especially like to read comics/manga/webcomics/graphic novels, but I can't make one to save my life.
